These terms form the contract between you, the ambassador, and Cowa Services SARL-U, the publisher of MonEtalo. They explain how to join the program, how you earn commissions by introducing sellers to MonEtalo, how you get paid and which rules you agree to follow. Please read them carefully: by submitting your application and then using your link, you accept them. This English version is provided for convenience; if it differs from the French version, the French version prevails.
1. Purpose#
The Ambassador Program lets content creators, group and page admins, trainers and other people with influence among sellers recommend MonEtalo to their community. In return, MonEtalo pays you a commission on subscriptions paid by the stores created thanks to you.
These terms supplement our Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy and our Privacy Policy, which also apply to your use of the platform. If they conflict on a matter specific to the program, these terms prevail.
2. Definitions#
- MonEtalo, we, us: Cowa Services SARL-U, publisher of the MonEtalo platform.
- Ambassador, you: the individual or company whose application to the program has been accepted.
- Ambassador space: your dashboard at ambassadeur.monetalo.com, where you find your link, your statistics, your wallet and your withdrawal requests.
- Link: your personal referral address, in the form
monetalo.com/a/CODE. - Attributed store: a store created on MonEtalo by a new seller and linked to your account under the rules in section 5.
- Commission: the amount MonEtalo owes you on a subscription paid by an Attributed store, calculated under section 6.
- Wallet: the balance of your commissions in your Ambassador space, showing pending and available commissions separately.
- Withdrawal: the payout, at your request, of all or part of your available commissions to your Mobile Money account.
3. Application and acceptance#
3.1 Who can apply#
To apply, you must be of legal age and able to enter into a contract, or be a company represented by an authorized person. You must provide accurate, up-to-date information (name, email, country, phone number, networks).
3.2 Your networks and proof of ownership#
In your application, you list the networks through which you plan to talk about MonEtalo: groups, pages, channels or accounts (Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube…). To check that you own or manage them, we give you a verification code in the format MONETALO-XXXX. You place it temporarily in the bio or description of each network you listed, while we carry out the check. You can remove it once your application has been reviewed.
You may only list networks you genuinely own or manage. Listing someone else’s network is grounds for refusal or immediate termination.
3.3 MonEtalo’s decision#
We review every application and are free to accept or decline it, without having to give reasons, in particular based on the quality of your community, its relevance to sellers and its fit with our values. The program starts for you when we confirm your acceptance by email. You can then add further networks from your Ambassador space; they go through the same verification.
4. Your personal link#
Once accepted, you receive your Link. It is personal to you: you may not sell it, transfer it or let someone else use it on your behalf. You are free to share it in your posts, videos, messages and groups, in line with section 9.
The code in your Link is chosen or approved by MonEtalo. We may ask you to change it if it is confusing or infringes someone else’s rights.
5. Store attribution#
5.1 The last-click rule#
When someone clicks your Link, that click is remembered on their device for 60 days (using the me_amb cookie described in our Cookie Policy). If they create a store on MonEtalo during that period, on the same device and browser, the store is attributed to you.
If the person has clicked links from several ambassadors, the last ambassador link clicked before the store was created is the one that counts. Attribution is fixed when the store is created and does not change afterwards.
5.2 What is not attributed#
A store is not attributed to you, or its attribution is cancelled, if:
- it was created before the click on your Link, or after the 60-day period expired;
- the visitor blocked or cleared cookies, or switched device or browser between the click and the creation;
- it is your own store, or a store you control directly or indirectly, including through a relative, partner, employee or front person;
- it was obtained through a practice prohibited by section 9.
5.3 No combination with seller referrals#
The Ambassador Program and the seller referral program cannot be combined. A store attributed to an ambassador does not count for referrals, and a store already linked to a referring seller cannot be attributed to you.
5.4 What counts as proof#
Attribution is determined by the MonEtalo platform’s records. If you believe a store should have been attributed to you, email us at support@monetalo.com within 30 days of its creation: we will check in good faith, but we cannot attribute a store without a technical record of your Link.
6. Your commission#
6.1 Amount#
You earn 20% of every subscription paid by an Attributed store during its first 12 months, counted from the store’s creation. The free trial and the free Starter plan do not generate commission, since nothing is paid.
The commission is calculated on the amount actually received by MonEtalo for the subscription, excluding taxes (VAT or similar) and excluding fees (payment partner fees, transfer fees), after deducting any discounts or promo codes.
6.2 Annual plans and plan changes#
If an Attributed store pays for an annual subscription during its first 12 months, your commission is calculated on the amount paid for that annual subscription. If it upgrades to a higher plan during that period, you earn commission on the additional amount actually paid. Payments made after the first 12 months do not generate commission.
6.3 Custom terms#
MonEtalo may offer you special terms (rate, duration, bonus). They are only valid if confirmed in writing by MonEtalo (by email or a message in your Ambassador space) and apply only to the stores and period stated. A verbal promise or a message from a third party does not bind you or us.
6.4 Currency#
Your commission is calculated in the currency in which the subscription was paid, then recorded in your Wallet in the currency shown there. If a conversion is needed, it uses the exchange rate applicable on the day the commission is credited.
7. Your wallet#
7.1 Pending, then available#
Each commission is credited to your Wallet as soon as the subscription payment is confirmed by our payment partner. It stays pending for 30 days, then becomes available for withdrawal. This period covers any refunds, disputes or payment errors.
7.2 Cancelled commissions#
A commission, whether pending or already available, is cancelled or reversed if:
- the related subscription is refunded, cancelled, disputed or ultimately not paid;
- the payment results from an error or fraud;
- the store should not have been attributed to you under section 5;
- it was obtained in breach of section 9.
If the commission has already been withdrawn, MonEtalo may ask you to pay it back when it was obtained through fraud.
7.3 Your wallet is not a bank account#
The Wallet is simply a statement of what MonEtalo owes you. It earns no interest, you cannot top it up, and its balance cannot be used for anything other than a Withdrawal, unless MonEtalo expressly offers it.
8. Withdrawals#
8.1 Requesting a withdrawal#
Once your available commissions reach F CFA 10,000, you can request a Withdrawal from your Ambassador space. Payment is made to a Mobile Money account in your name (or in your company’s name if you are a company). We do not pay into anyone else’s account. We may ask for ID or supporting documents before your first Withdrawal or when you change accounts.
8.2 Payment time#
We make the payment within 72 business hours of your request, unless a check is in progress, the information is incorrect or the Mobile Money operator has an incident. If a payment fails because of incorrect details you provided, the amount returns to your Wallet and you can correct your details.
8.3 Fees and currency#
Any fees charged by the Mobile Money operator to receive or transfer the money are your responsibility and may be deducted from the amount paid. Payment is made in your Wallet currency or, if the operator requires it, in the currency of your Mobile Money account, at the exchange rate applied at the time of transfer.
9. Your obligations and good practices#
9.1 What you agree to do#
- Present MonEtalo honestly, accurately and up to date (plans, prices, features), based on the information published on monetalo.com.
- Clearly disclose that you are a paid ambassador when you recommend MonEtalo (for example “ambassador link” or “partnership”), as required by social network rules and the law of your country.
- Comply with applicable laws (advertising, consumer protection, data protection) and the rules of each social network.
- Respect your community: only contact people who have agreed to receive your messages.
9.2 Allowed practices#
- Publishing tutorials, videos, demos or genuine reviews of MonEtalo.
- Sharing your Link in your groups, pages, channels, accounts, websites and newsletters.
- Helping sellers set up their store, provided they create and run it themselves.
- Running paid ads that promote your own content (your video, your training), without using the MonEtalo brand as described below.
9.3 Prohibited practices#
- Spam: unsolicited bulk messages, repeated posting in groups that do not allow it, adding people to groups without their consent.
- False promises: promising guaranteed earnings, sales or income, or presenting MonEtalo as a way to “get rich”.
- Paid advertising on the brand: buying ads on the name “MonEtalo”, its variants or misspellings as keywords (Google, Bing…) or in an ad’s name or URL; bidding on the brand to redirect to your Link.
- Impersonation: presenting yourself as an employee, official representative, agent or customer service of MonEtalo, or creating pages, accounts, groups or domain names that could be confused with ours.
- Fake accounts: creating or having others create fake stores, fake accounts or fake sign-ups, or using bots.
- Self-referral: using your Link for your own stores or stores you control (section 5.2).
- Misleading incentives: offering money or a gift for a sign-up without saying so clearly, inventing discounts or offers MonEtalo does not provide, or disguising your Link (misleading redirects, hidden links).
- Posting your Link on illegal, hateful, adult or misleading sites or content.
- Any practice that breaches our Acceptable Use Policy.
Key point: a prohibited practice may lead to the immediate suspension of your ambassador account and the loss of unpaid commissions linked to that practice.
10. Using the MonEtalo brand#
For the duration of the program, MonEtalo grants you a limited, non-exclusive, free, personal and revocable licence to use the MonEtalo name, its logo and the messages in the ambassador kit provided in your Ambassador space, solely to promote MonEtalo with your Link.
You must use these elements as provided, without modifying, recolouring or distorting them, and without associating them with content that could harm MonEtalo’s image. You may not register any trademark, domain name or account name containing “MonEtalo” or a similar name. This licence ends automatically when your participation in the program ends: you then remove our brand elements from your content within a reasonable time, except for past posts that no longer present your Link as active.
11. Your independent status#
You act as an independent contractor. This contract creates no relationship of subordination, employment, mandate, commercial agency, partnership or franchise between you and MonEtalo. You organise your activity, hours and resources freely, and you have no power to bind MonEtalo.
You alone are responsible for your tax and social security obligations: declaring your income, taxes, social contributions and, where applicable, registering your business, under the law of your country. If the law requires us to withhold tax at source or to report amounts paid, we will do so and let you know.
12. Personal data#
To run the program, we process your data (identity, contact details, listed networks, Link statistics, commissions, Mobile Money payment details). Details of this processing, retention periods and your rights are set out in our Privacy Policy.
To protect sellers, you cannot see the identity of Attributed stores or their customers’ data: your Ambassador space only shows statistics and amounts. If you otherwise receive sellers’ personal data (for example while helping them), you must protect it and comply with applicable law, including Ivorian Law No. 2013-450 of 19 June 2013 and, where relevant, the GDPR.
13. Term, suspension and termination#
13.1 Term#
The contract starts when your application is accepted and runs for an indefinite period, until terminated by you or by MonEtalo.
13.2 Termination by you#
You can leave the program at any time by emailing support@monetalo.com or from your Ambassador space.
13.3 Suspension and termination by MonEtalo#
MonEtalo may end your participation at any time with 30 days’ notice by email. In case of a serious breach (prohibited practice, fraud, false information, harm to MonEtalo’s brand or reputation), we may suspend your account immediately while we investigate, then terminate it without notice.
13.4 What happens to your commissions#
- If the contract ends through no fault of yours (termination by you or with notice by MonEtalo), you keep the commissions already earned. Pending commissions become available at the end of their 30-day period, and you can withdraw them, even below the F CFA 10,000 minimum, within the following 6 months. No new commission is generated after the contract ends.
- In case of termination for serious breach, unpaid commissions linked to the breach are forfeited, and MonEtalo may hold the others while it checks the amounts actually owed.
14. Changes to the program#
MonEtalo may change the program (rate, duration, periods, withdrawal minimum, attribution rules) or end it. We will notify you by email or in your Ambassador space at least 30 days before a change takes effect, unless it is required by law or an authority, in which case it may apply sooner.
A change does not apply to commissions already credited to your Wallet. If you do not accept the new terms, you can leave the program before they take effect; if you keep using your Link afterwards, you accept them.
15. Liability#
You are responsible for the content you publish and for how you promote MonEtalo. You will indemnify MonEtalo against any third-party claim related to your content or to a breach of these terms.
MonEtalo does not guarantee any level of income: your earnings depend solely on the stores actually attributed and the subscriptions actually paid. We do our best to make sure your Link, statistics and Wallet work properly, but we are not liable for indirect losses (loss of earnings, loss of audience) or temporary unavailability. In any event, MonEtalo’s liability to you is limited to the commissions paid to you over the last 12 months, except in case of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
16. Governing law and disputes#
These terms are governed by Ivorian law. If you disagree with us, please email support@monetalo.com first: we will work together to find an amicable solution within 30 days. If no agreement is reached, the dispute will be brought before the courts of Abidjan.
17. General provisions#
- These terms, together with the documents they refer to and any written custom terms, form the entire agreement between you and MonEtalo regarding the program.
- If any clause is held invalid, the others remain in force.
- You may not transfer this contract to anyone else without our written consent.
- MonEtalo’s failure to exercise a right at any given time does not mean it waives that right.
- The French version of these terms is the authoritative version.
